In the hush of night, a mosquito's whine,
An unwelcome melody, a constant line.
Beside my ear, it lingers near,
A buzzing nuisance that I constantly hear.
With restless hands, a nightly chore,
I swat and wave, a battle, less or more.
Hour by hour,
my annoyance does reach a new height,
I fend off the pest, yearning for respite.
But one sleepless night, a twist of fate,
I turn around, my ear pressed against my pillowcase.
The whining persists, clear and near,
Yet no mosquito I catch or see,
just anxiety I hear.
The insect's hum, a guise it took,
In my mind, anxiety's brand new look.
A nocturnal dance, a deceptive spree,
The whining,
a reflection of what's within me.
This was so good ❤️
